Cleanrooms
In this project, a new cleanroom has been created for the company. (Controlled environment rooms, or cleanrooms, are spaces designed to minimise contamination while maintaining an aseptic environment).
To ensure the room met all necessary requirements, the following actions were carried out:
- The air must be sterile, and for this reason, it is renewed several times per hour to eliminate the presence of potential contaminants.
- The internal pressure in these rooms is slightly higher than the external pressure to prevent airflow inward when doors are opened.
- The walls are covered with rigid materials such as polycarbonate, and the floors are usually vinyl, as it provides a completely continuous surface without seams.
- The junctions between the floor and walls are specifically designed with curved shapes to prevent dust accumulation and facilitate the maintenance of an adequate level of asepsis.
- High-efficiency HEPA filters are used, capturing 99.97% of particles of 0.3 microns present in the environment.
- The flows of materials, personnel, and waste are carefully monitored to minimise any risk of cross-contamination or contamination from outside.
